In 2004, schools in Singapore embarked on a project known as Today In History. The 'ground-up' effort saw students doing
research on what happened in Singapore on their date of birth (on any year up to 2004). These events range from the milestone
to the mundane. The best entries from students will be submitted and published into a National Day Commemorative Book 2005
as a National Day gift for all students in 2005.
Today In History, a National Day TV special, casts a spotlight on the making of the Today In History
project. Go behind-the-scenes with affable host Evelyn Tan as she takes us through the many hard-toiled yet rewarding hours
spent on research on the project which culminated in the publishing of a National Day Commemorative book.
Through re-enactments of milestone events in history and heartwarming stories of students, you get an insight into
Singapore's multi-cultural and historical landscapes and also get upclose and personal with the minds and hearts of our young
Singaporean students.
